Meet Sarah Bock, Evangelism

I’m Sarah Bock and I came to Southminster by Letter of Transfer, sometime between summer 2006 and spring 2007. My husband, Dan and I joined Southminster because we wanted our two boys to participate in a thriving youth group as we had both done as adolescents. We have found the people at Southminster to be very friendly and welcoming!

I was born in northwest Arkansas but started kindergarten in St. Louis. As the daughter of an engineer and a teacher, I was either going to be an engineer or a math teacher...and wound up pursuing a career in engineering. Kevin, our oldest son, works as an R&D engineer for General Mills in their snacks division (think Nature Valley!) in Minneapolis. He is in the process of applying to graduate schools and hopes to get accepted to one of his top three choices for the fall of 2019. Michael is starting his 3rd year in UMKC’s 6 year BA/MD program. He does not know yet what kind of doctor he’ll be, but has plenty of time to investigate all the various fields before he has to make that decision. Both of our sons are/were active in college Christian ministries and we attribute that to the foundation they received while in middle and high school.

I have been a faithful swimmer since January 1984, due to an ACL tear and the doctors telling me swimming would be good for it. I also enjoy rollerblading, being outside, and visiting our national parks. I currently serve on session as the Chair of the Evangelism Commission, which I have been assisting with for several years and really enjoy it!
