Music for the Soul

Writer: Pastor Karl HauserPastor Karl Hauser

Our Music Director Tom Hart is faithful and diligent in his music preparation and selection for our weekly worship services. Here are some words about our Memorial Day service music. May it be a blessing to you and to your soul today.

"This poetic paraphrase of Psalm 121 "I Lift Up My Eyes" is sung and played in honor of Henry P. Vander Linde, WWII era veteran and father of Martha Hart. This was a favorite family psalm and is offered as a tribute on our Memorial Day service to all those who served our country, those who continue to serve in a multitude of ways and seek strength in a time of trial. Performing with Martha are her her sister Kris McKay, clarinet, niece Katie Miller, and organist, Paul Laubengayer. This setting was written by Reverend Dick Van Halsema, a well-respected clergyman, gifted preacher, and talented musician."
