My name is Jacob D. Simpson.  I will be completing my second year as a deacon assigned to the Worship Commission.  In addition to being a deacon, I take care of online streaming for our church service and other events along with others.  I have helped with prep work for VBS, Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, and other activities at church.

I was born in Bangalore, India, and lived almost 33 years in the same city.  I never wanted to move out, but God had different plans, and my work got us to St. Louis in 2008 at the peak of winter  Since then, this has become our home.  Suma and I have been married for 23 years and are blessed with two children, Rina, who just started at Mizzou, and David, who began high school at Lindbergh this year.

I was raised in a Christian family, and my paternal grandmother, mom, and others have significantly influenced my Christian walk.  When we moved to St. Louis, we were looking for a Church.  God’s providence brought us to Southminster.  Since then, this Church has become our extended family.  We as a family have learned so many aspects of Christian living and principles through our Church, many of whom have influenced us, directly and indirectly, to grow in our Christian Walk of faith.  This Church family has stood with us in many of our visa struggles and celebrated our joys.  I continue to learn and grow in my Christian Walk, and our Church family still greatly influences my faith in Christ.
