Youth Ministry Opportunities
Things are happening in the Student Ministries at Southminster. If you have a love for God and for high school or middle school students, we would love to talk with you about the various opportunities to serve in this ministry.
Opportunities for ministry include:
Youth Group
This is our large group meeting that's designed to have a friendly, fun, challenging, and exciting atmosphere. This evening program is intended to provide teens with an opportunity to be challenged in their faith and worship God. Each week youll find various combinations of singing, skits, and solid teaching.
In Sunday School, we focus on creating an environment that challenges students who are already Christians yet is also welcoming and comfortable for students who aren't Christians or who dont want to be there. The goal of each lesson is to provide students with an 'ah-ha!' moment. If one leaves the room saying, "I didn't know that was in the Bible!" then we know we hit a home run.
It is in life groups that we seek to challenge students and help them build deep, meaningful relationships. The goal of life groups is to build connections: Connections with God through prayer, Connections to Scripture through bible study, and Connections to each other through mentoring and accountability.

We're looking for adults who love students and love the Bible and can't imagine anything more fun than sharing the Bible with students. Energy, enthusiasm and creativity are great characteristics for this person.

Volunteer Role: Life Group Leader/Mentor
If you love hanging out with students, sharing your life with them and having them share their life with you, this is the area you're looking for. You don't have to be a Bible Expert in order to be a small group leader, but you do have to love kids and be willing to be open and transparent with them.
